Sam Parker-Davies

PERMACULTURE TEACHER & CONSULTANT

Building a Brand as Bold as the Work Behind It.

Sam Parker-Davies is a permaculture designer and teacher working with clients across Australia, the Middle East, and Asia. From food forests and natural swimming pools to full land master plans, his work attracts serious clients — landowners, property developers, and institutions who want to do things right.

The problem was simple: Sam’s reputation far outpaced his brand. He had no logo, no visual identity, and no professional presence to match the calibre of his work. Before Ethos, he was flying under the radar — and it was costing him.

STRATEGY & IDENTITY

From no brand to the right brand for Sam.

Before a single logo was sketched, we ran deep strategy sessions to answer the questions that matter most. Should Sam build a personal brand or a business? Who are his real audiences? What separates him from every other voice in the regenerative design space?

The answers led to a significant pivot. Sam had originally planned to build a business brand called Ethical Estates. Through our consultation process it became clear that his reputation, knowledge, and relationships were the asset — Sam was the brand.

With the strategy defined, the identity followed. The S mark was built from topographic contour line, the maps fundamental to permaculture design. It carries Sam’s initial and a meaning that runs deeper than a monogram.

The colour palette was a deliberate break from convention — black, lime green, charcoal, and linen. Nothing earthy, nothing expected. Bold enough to stand out. Refined enough to sit comfortably next to the high-end international clients Sam wants to work with.

GUIDLINES & BRAND APPLICATION

A Brand System,
Not Just a Logo.

A logo alone isn’t a brand. With the identity locked, we built out a complete brand system — documenting every rule, every variation, every colour value and type pairing so Sam could apply the brand confidently and consistently across everything he does.

From business cards to course posters, the guidelines ensure the brand holds up at every scale and in every context.

  • Full brand guidelines document
  • Logo variations and usage rules
  • Colour system and typography
  • Course advertising templates
  • Social media and YouTube thumbnail templates

PHOTOGRAPHY & SOCIAL MEDIA

The brand in action.

With the identity in place, we turned to how Sam would show up in the world. We hired and art directed a professional photography shoot — giving Sam a library of images that matched the calibre of the brand and could carry across every touchpoint.

The social media templates were built to the same standard — so whether someone finds Sam on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or YouTube, the experience feels cohesive, considered, and unmistakably him.

  • Professional photography, hired and art directed by Ethos
  • Instagram & Facebook post templates
  • LinkedIn presence
  • YouTube channel and thumbnail templates
