Future-proofing a global permaculture brand

Discover Permaculture is the educational platform of Geoff Lawton. One of the most recognised permaculture educators in the world.

As the platform expanded, it needed to evolve beyond a purely personality-led brand. The goal was to create something with greater longevity, stronger recognition, and the flexibility to support future growth while still keeping Geoff at its centre.

THE CHALLANGE

Evolving the brand without losing trust

The original Geoff Lawton Online identity had built strong recognition and already sat across a growing collection of courses, programmes, and initiatives.

Alongside established brands such as Zaytuna Farm, the Permaculture Research Institute, and Greening the Desert Project, the new Discover Permaculture identity also needed to feel like a natural part of this wider ecosystem.

The challenge was to develop a parent brand that could retain the familiarity and trust already established, work seamlessly alongside these supporting platforms, and provide a clearer, more scalable foundation for future growth.

Building a Recognisable Ecosystem

The new identity system was designed to feel grounded, educational, and enduring.

At the centre is the Discover Permaculture symbol,  we combined ideas of natural growth, regenerative cycles, and continuous learning into one recognisable mark. Supporting typography, colour palettes, sub-brand lockups, and media rules were then developed to create consistency across the wider Geoff Lawton ecosystem. This included clear systems for social content, educational assets, video graphics, online courses, and supporting materials.

The result is a cohesive visual language that allows every touchpoint to feel connected, professional, and instantly recognisable.

Permaculture education often involves layered systems, processes, and technical explanations that can be difficult to absorb through long-form content alone.

To make this knowledge more accessible, we developed a suite of educational infographics designed to simplify, structure, and visualise complex information into clear practical guides.

  • Designed for both quick reference and shareability

These assets transform information into something immediately usable.

Rather than asking audiences to sift through lengthy videos or written explanations, key lessons can be understood at a glance and applied in the real world. The result is educational content with a longer lifespan, greater reach, and far more practical value.
